So in prep for the draft, three NBA teams have announced new logos for the 10-11 season: Orlando, Utah, and Golden State.

After changing their uniforms for the umpteenth time last season, the Magic decided to use new word marks that were not visible anywhere else. So for the 10-11 season, they have inserted those new word marks into the logo to make this minor change over as market it as a new logo.

The Utah Jazz decided to appease their fans by bringing back the traditional “note” logo that was used when the team was based in New Orleans and then during most of the Stockton/Malone era. However, this will only serve as a secondary logo as they are still using the mountain logo that was introduced in 96-97. Along with the return of the retro logo, will be a new color scheme - Navy, Yellow, Green and Gray.

The Warriors also decided to go the retro route, going with the circle logo they used for most of the franchise’s history, this time putting part of the bridge into the left portion of the circle. In a surprise move from my standpoint, they decided to use the very generic and commonly used copperplate gothic font for the word marks. They’ve also returned to the traditional blue and gold colors, going away from the orange and navy that had been used the last 12 years. In addition, they’ve also announced their new home uniform, which will feature the full logo with the number inside the circle, to the right of the bridge, much like it appeared in the old “City” logo uniforms.
